Brakes can’t talk – or can they? If you’re not distracted with chatter or music, you might hear your brakes trying to tell you when something’s wrong. The easiest way you can avoid brake failure is by maintaining the vehicle regularly and being attentive to any changes in performance. Because a vehicle’s brake system involves many components along the entire length of the vehicle, any number of things can go wrong like calipers, brake shoes and brake pads etc. Inspect brake pads, discs and shoes annually and replace them if they are worn. Change the brake fluid every 48,000 miles or every four years which ever comes sooner, also seek advice if you experience any of the following symptoms.

  • The antilock brake system [ABS] light comes on.
  • When accelerating, you feel a lot of drag.
  • The brake pedal pulses when you brake. You hear clicking, grinding, or squeaking when you apply the brake.
  • The car grabs, or pulls to one side

In a word "Brilliant". I needed a first MOT for my Tesla Model 3, and this garage are HEVRA members, so should be OK with EVs. Well, they're better than OK, just brilliant. From the moment of arrival to a warm welcome, asked if first visit, given a brief rundown on whats going to happen and then settled in to the Customer Waiting Room, spotlessly clean and comfortable. I was also offered a cup of tea or coffee. So kind and unprecedented in my experience. Being a Tesla, they do have a bit of a mind of their own, I was asked if I'd assist by being in the car so it doesn't shut off. Happy enough to do that of course. And also had a great chat, when appropriate, with the technician doing the work. All in all, what can I say, it was an extremely good experience. Courteous service throughout, the team are 100% on point. I can highly recommend from this first experience. And will be sure to make them first port of call for any of my future Car needs. Thanks chaps. Did I say Brilliant? It really was.
